Comparisons

A quite average January. Some cold mornings in February with the snow drifts from the last day of January lasting a week. The second half of March was quite warm and dry. A record peak temperature was recorded for April. Temperatures in May were above average and produced a new record high for May. June had generally higher temperatures but without a blistering hot day to take the peak up. July was generally warmer without being extreme. August brought the heatwave with a record high, as well as an equal to record low for the month. The warmth lasted most of September with a cold snap towards the end, resulting in new highest and lowest temperatures for the month. October was fairly average for temperatures. The high rainfall has probably helped keep November fairly mild. December values were extremely close to the averages.
