Woodborough’s Heritage

Woodborough - an ancient Sherwood Forest village

Shops  & trades taken from censuses 1841-1901

This list was compiled mainly from the census records, Not only do these records show the variety of trades and shops in Woodborough but also the people involved at the time each census was conducted. As an example the category of blacksmith shows that John Orme was present in 1832 and also 1841, 1851, 1861. There wasn’t a record for 1871 but in 1881 a William Orme presumably took over.
