Woodborough’s Heritage
Woodborough - an ancient Sherwood Forest village
Page revised 21st February 2012
What’s new and what’s coming up?
It took nine years to collect, collate and built up the old website. In the beginning there was no way of telling how much material would become available through our research and so the old website was built up piece meal. It became apparent that there was a need to restructure the site and the best way of doing that was to start again with a new design.
Much thought was given to the order and grouping of the many and diverse articles. Two retired librarians and an author looked at the brief and decided on the framework you now see. Unusually a prefix number has been added to the titles, this is to aid the reader to move on to the next title much as they would in a book, chapter to chapter.
The new website, the one you are now looking at, took five months to build. During this time the opportunity was taken to increase the number of illustrations, and also to resize and enhance most of the photographs. The new site is not yet complete, there is still ‘work in progress’ and the following list will give you an idea of what has been added and what is in the pipeline.
