There are now nineteen books by Victor Canning in print from the print-on-demand service of Lulu.com, mostly early works which have been out of print for a long time, as well as short story collections. E-book versions are in ePub format. I will gradually add Amazon Kindle editions, downloadable from Amazon.
A new collection of Victor Canning short stories which I have edited, including the superb 'Minerva Club' group, has now been released by the US publishers Crippen and Landru. Follow this link to the publishers' site. Other new editions of The Rainbird Pattern, The Whip Hand, The Python Project and of Everyman's England have appeared recently.
A few of Canning's middle-period books are in print in large-print editions, intended mainly for libraries.
See also my own list of copies for sale.
The following is a tally of the number of copies of Victor Canning's books offered for sale by dealers on the ABE network on 15th May 2007 and 20 September 2012. This will give an idea of the relative scarcity of different titles. The total returned by a search for "Victor Canning" was 4666 and 3997 on those days, but that includes translations and a small number of other books written by joint authors whose names include "Victor" and "Canning". My informal checks suggest that dealers are adding around ten books of Canning a day to their listings, which implies that about ten a day on average are being sold since the total stays around the same. Totals for the three Mr. Finchley books include some copies of my modern reprints, which are in print. Listed for the first time are my two new collections of short stories, The Minerva Club and Comedies and Whimsies. For the most part these can be obtained far cheaper by buying directly from the publisher (see above).
(Where a book was sold under a different title in the USA, both figures are given. Otherwise British and American editions are amalgamated. I have generally excluded translations.)
