Worle Baptist Church is a church for all ages at the heart of the community. For a number of years our mission statement has been “to be a Christian community, in the community, for the community”. We are committed to making the good news of Christianity relevant to the people in Worle. We aim to do this by being a group of Christians that care for one another and get involved in the local community. We believe that a personal faith in God helps people to feel more content and complete at a time when many people are short of hope and meaning.
History
Worle Baptist Church began in 1983 when a group of people from Milton Baptist Church felt called by God to begin a church in the new housing developments that were being built around Weston-super-Mare.
Initially the church was led by the Assistant Pastor from Milton until it was constituted in its own right. It met in local schools until in the mid-1990’s, it purchased a plot of land in North Worle where a temporary building was erected. The site was located right in the heart of the community, between Castle Batch Primary School, the supermarket and the Observatory Pub.
The life of the fellowship fluctuated over these years but a committed group of people retained their God-given vision to serve and reach the community of North Worle. Work with families, children and older people all developed during this period. Then in 2002 the church grew to the point where it was in the position that it could build its own premises. These were opened in 2003.
Today the church and community fill this building with worship and activities that seek to make the good news of the Christian message known in the area. Work with young people, children, toddlers and families and older people are all flourishing. The local pre-school rents part of the premises. Worship opportunities happen through the week and on Sunday’s; and Worle Baptist Church has become a significant part of life in Worle.

WBC Pastor: Peter Lynch
Peter has been the Pastor of Worle Baptist Church since September 2001. He was previously the Associate Pastor at Cornerstone Fellowship in Aberdeen (1986-93) and then Pastor at Church Lane Evangelical Church, Stafford (1994-2001).
Having grown up in Manchester and developed a strong allegiance to Manchester City, he studied Geology at Sheffield and Aberdeen Universities before working in the oil industry. While living in Aberdeen he joined the staff of his church and retrained in Theology, completing his studies in 1994 at London Bible College.
He still has a mild interest in anything to do with rocks; a rather mediocre golf game; an enjoyment of most things outdoor, including skiing and walking and a now rather morbid attachment to Manchester City.
Peter is married to Louise who is a Social Work Trainer. They met in Aberdeen and were married in 1994. They have two fantastic boys, Calum and Jonah.
