Body Building and Repairs

Three of our 60ft bays are used for crash repairs, body modifications and also for the building of complete bodies. We only build a limited amount of bodies, which are manufactured to customers’ specification. At the same time we have the facilities to carry out accident repairs to both vehicle cabs and bodies; in fact we are able to cope with most types of accident damage with the exception of chassis straightening.

All parts of truck bodies can be repaired, including;

  • side and roof panels, including rails and end caps
  • floors and subframes,
  • tail lifts and associated components,
  • shutters and doors
  • inside rub rails and load locks
  • TIR tilts and side curtains
  • insulated body panels
  • stainless steel body frames and welding

Here are some pictures showing the kind of bodies that can be built.

This Mercedes Actros based specialist removal vehicle was built to meet the customers requirements, operating across Europe. The rigid vehicle has complete nearside opening side panels allowing the fitment of 5 containers. The trailer holds 4 containers through its four door access. The interior is designed to allow for loose loading, and access through the rear doors of the rigid and front doors of the trailer, gives a length of over 50ft of load space. The sleeper cab has two bunks, with further sleeping accomodation for two more persons in the over cab pod, which is fully insulated and air-conditioned / heated.

THE WELHAM, can be mounted on any chassis cab of 7.5 tons GVW. It is designed to carry 3 horses in comfort and sleep 4 to 5 people in the main salon and area over the cab. The living area has a cooker, powered water supply, shower and washing facility. A crawl through provision is available between the cab and living area with a secure door to the horse area. The rear ramp has been spring assisted for ease of closure. The main structure is of galvanised steel to the underside with GRP panels and alloy to the main structure, which prevent any rusting and ensures a trouble free life with high resale value.

 This 1948 Mercedes originally built in Cologne in Germany and used by Radio Luxembourg as a racing car transporter to advertise their station in Europe. It was brought to this country and used by a private collector. When we recieved it was in a very poor condition, however it has been completely renovated and modified to carry vintage Bentleys and is now owned by Stanley Mann Racing. The main modifications included lowering and sloping the floor and redesigning the rear door to be used as the ramp.
