Match Report - Sunday 2nd November 2002 League
Inter Kingswood 6 v 2 Trinity Juniors
The boys just keep going from strength to strength. In
a pre season friendly against the same side we managed to
dig out a 2-1 victory, in what was a very evenly fought
match, today was quite simply a one sided stroll in the
park.
Just as Billy and Lol Turner returned to the team from
holiday, we lost Bbarry Lough to family commitments and
Jake Whiffen to injury.
The match took place at James Hornsby High school as
our usual home pitch at Eversley Park was un available to
us. It took us about ten minutes to settle down in to our
rythem, but then we started playing some good football
and the goals quickly followed. In double quick time we
were two goals up thanks to two well taken goals from
Spud.
It has to be said that some of our first half play was
excellent, with accurate passing, good movement and
precision crossing, which saw Jamie Jaggers cover nearly
evry blade of grass on the pitch.
Our third goal was well worth waiting for and came
from the right boot of Matt Bowden, with a delightful lob
from outside the box, a real gem of a goal. Chris Mcleod
scored our fourth goal just before half time to send us
in at the break with an unasailable lead, that in effect
killed the game off.
The second half continued in the same vein as the
first with two more goals from Matty Bowden, to secure
his hat trick and finish the game. We continued to play
some very attractive football and with the intervention
of Lewis Newman for LT, a bit of steel and aggression as
well.
Once again, a good all round performance from the
entire squad. Jamie Jaggers was deservedly given the
Manof the Match award by manager Paul Coulson for his
tireless contribution throughout the entire game.
A special mention must go to Matty Bowden who today
scored his third hat trick for the club in as many games,
and took his personal contribution in all competetive
games this season to thirteen.
Chris McCleod became the eleventh differnet player to
score for the club this season, whilst Spud took his
tally to four goals for the season.
