Waterfall

Nicole in USA in Seattle, Washington, USA:
Summer 2001 was a real hard time for me. Then, I met this cool guy and had an awesome night together going over fave bands, especially Stone Roses, and especially "Waterfall"...even now, that band's music connects with awesome people. Pretty timeless and unreal.

Matty Bryce in Falkirk, Scotland:
Cause I was mad for this girl and when when we eventually got it on this was the song that was playing back 1989.

Michael Woodhouse in Lincoln, England:
The lyrics mean alot to me, Squire's guitar is amazing and Brown's voice is spot on.

Zebadee:
My favourite Stone Roses song is Waterfall from the first Album. Its the song that inspired me to wear stupid flares and dodgy hats. (lol! I know this one well...Ed)

Kane Green, in Liverpool, England:
What an intro!

Connell Grogan in Peterbourgh:
It gets my heart going and puts a spring in my step.

Andy Schwartz in Barcelona:
What a solo!

Tim Brown in Toronto, Canada:
It was the first one I heard and opened the doors to the Roses for me and my pals.

Bernard Stanley in Manchester, England:
Love the guitar.

Kris Brechin in Inverbervie, Scotland:
John Squire's excellent guitar playing.

Sybil in the USA:
Do I really need to explain?

Terry Grant in Forres, Scotland:
Its gotta be waterfall. Its the best Paterson! (About time you voting on my site Terry!...Ed)

Ander Velasco in Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain:
Waterfall was the beginning of a new Era.

Shady Dave in Aberdeen, Scotland:
Its shit hot!!!!!!!

Erica in Vienna, Austria:
Heard it. Was hypnotized. It's just great.

Mr Bungle in Leeds, England:
That guitar riff...obviously.

Shay "King Monkey" Dunphy in Connolly, Ennis, County Clare, Ireland:
Its such an anthemic song in that the hairs on the back of your neck would stick up with it. Its so good I'm surprised a football club has not adapted it for its anthem. it also reminds me of browny at his best.

Daryl H. in California, USA:
It is non-stop..wall-of-sound. A stream of consciousness turned into sound.

Jeff Nelson in Portland, Oregon, USA:
Goes without saying...it's perfect.

Stephen Meek in Galston, Ayrshire, Scotland:
Its just a great song . It also makes me think what the Roses would have been like now if they had stuck with it.. i.e. "she'll carry on through it all"...Which is what they should have done.

Patrick McGurk in Dundalk, Ireland:
It has the most beautiful molody that I have ever heard.

Louise Shaw in Cambridge, England:
It kinda speaks for itself. What the Stone Roses are all about. The song that made me get music.

Jenny Stewart in Derby, England:
That begining!! Pure bliss. Words are not enough to describe.

Stuart Maxwell in Aberdeen, Scotland:
The best tune by the Roses ever. My band play it as a cover too.

Alan Dickson in Haddington, Scotland:
Just thing it's a fantastic song, brilliant melody, love it!!!!!!

Lindz in Buckie, Scotland:
It puts a good feeling of excitement through me when I listen to it. Every time I have it on I repeat over and over again. It is the best song ever.

Richard Millar in Manchester, England:
It's f**king MAGICAL!

Kit in an unknown place...:
Great guitar riff, great vocal melody, fantastic ending. They knew it was so good, they had to write Don't Stop to make the most of it!

Victor Chacon in Mexico City, Mexico:
In my life waterfall is the BEST SONG that I have.

Nicky in another unknown place!:
This song flows in a beautifully understated way - from Brown's hushed, poetic lyrics (whipped by the winds of the west) to Squire's dreamy riffing followed by his punchy solo. It is then expertly held together by the trademark Mani bassline and is kept sublimely bounding forward by Reni's unique drumming. The atmosphere created by all these components and by these talents thrown together for me touches perfection and sums up what the Stone Roses were all about. It is at once serene, dark and uplifting. (Well said...Ed)

Andy Lucas in Strathaven, Scotland:
Live it was class. Ian Browns voice is outstanding even when played live. Guitar solo at the end is brilliant.

Jez in Birmingham, England:
Cos you can dance like Mr Brown to it, man.

Robert Gifford, Inverurie, Scotland:
Since listenning to it from through my bedroom wall from my brother's room, I was hooked on the Roses. This song just has laid back memories.

Mark Chekares in Boston, Massachusetts, USA:
Sweet, Soothing vocals, catchy guitar riff.

Michael Bould in Middlesbrough, England:
Excellent Vocals/Lyrics and amazing riffs from Squire, and just when you get ready for a big outro it fades out!! Genius.

Grace in Dublin, Ireland:
Waterfall was the first roses song I ever heard and the way it reached out of the radio to me I'll never ever forget, all I can say is that I missed the bus to school that morning! love the Oakenfold remix too and don't stop anyway, u play waterfall it's just great.

Paul Duffy in Billingham,Cleveland, England:
(Comments include Fools Gold) Both Classic, Just The One Nag, Both are shortened on The Complete Stone Roses which is a downer because the solo in Waterfall is classic.

Sean Larkin in Manchester, England:
Waterfall got my vote because it has everything the Roses were about; funky, loud drum beats, wicked guitar riffs and pumpin` bass line then off course the catchy lyrics. But so did every other Roses song :)

Gary Cheal in Sunderland:
On the way back from an away game even if you win, lose or draw it still gets you in the mood for a good session when you get back home. )

Josh Small in Sydney, Australia:
Best song ever written. Jumbled yet crystal clear. Beautiful.
