John Squire left the Roses and formed the band 'The Seahorses' They had 4 top 20 singles and an album under their belt. However in February '98 they split up while recording the next album. The material recording in this sessions has since found its way to the bootleg market and can be obtained quite easily.
After the split John formed a new band with, ex-Verve bassist Simon Jones, ex-Seahorses drummer Mark Heaney and vocalist an unknown Duncan Baxter. However due to differences the band split before releasing any material. From this period there was a great hush as no one knew what John Squire was up to but in Novermber '02 he released his solo album 'Time Changes Everything' and the single 'Joe Loius'. He followed up this album with 'Marshalls House'  in '04.
Ian Brown has sucessfully embarked on a solo career and now has 6 top 20 singles and has 4 albums under his belt. His solo career started as a bit of a rough ride as he spent a month in prison at the end of '97 after an 'air rage' incident. Apparently Ian had said to a Stewardess 'I'll chop yer Fookin hands off'. His superb second album 'Golden Greats' was released on November '99 and his most recent album 'The Greatest' in 2005. I still hope he can pull back from his differences with John and get the Roses back on track again. Please! ;o)
Mani joined the band Primal Scream as their bassist. They have released three albums since he joined. Mani has been the most persistant voice in getting the Roses back together. One story I have heard is that at the beginning of one Primal Scream gig he went on stage in a bit of a state. He then proceeded to play the bassline to 'I Wanna Be Adored' before getting his head around to what he really should be playing! Incidently both John Squire and Ian Brown have been performing Roses material at their gigs.
Reni formed a band called 'The Rub' He played guitar and was lead vocalist of the band. The other band members were guitarist Casey Longdon, bassist Neil Nisbet, drummer Mick Grant. After a brief tour in 2001 the band just disappeared although he has been seen and interviewed with Mani since then.
