Parent Craft/Breast Feeding Service

Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety to give a timescale within which a dedicated Parent Craft/Breast Feeding co-ordinating service will be reinstated to serve the Mid-Ulster hospital catchment area.

Mr M McGimpsey: The dedicated Parent Craft/ Breast Feeding co-ordinating service in the Mid-Ulster hospital catchment area is currently unavailable as a result of staff illness. However in the interim the promotion of breastfeeding and parent craft continues to be delivered as a core function of all midwives and health visitors.
