McGlone: Home Fire Safety Check
Can Save Lives
SDLP MLA for Mid Ulster, Patsy McGlone, has
warned of the danger of fires in the home and has recommended the Fire and
Rescue Service’s free Home Fire Safety Check.
Mr McGlone said, “Every home should have a smoke detector, and every home
should have a plan of action on what to do should a fire break out.
“The Fire and Rescue Service offer a free Home Fire Safety Check where they
will provide general fire safety in the home advice and, if necessary,
install a smoke detector.
“There is currently a waiting list for the Home Fire Safety Check but people
can put their name on the list at any time.
“The phone number to request a Home Fire Safety Check is 028 9260 0477.
Requests can also be made at the Fire and Rescue Service website,
http://www.nifrs.org/fire_safety.php , where more information and advice
is available.”
