MCGLONE SLAMS THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR EXPLOSIVE DEVICE

SDLP Mid-Ulster MLA Patsy McGlone has condemned those responsible for placing a suspicious device at a house in Moneymore.

“Those who planted this device have shown a total disregard for public safety and the hard work which has been done to create a peaceful society.

“Luckily no one was hurt in this incident as police and army ammunitions experts were able to make safe this viable explosive device which was dangerously placed in the back yard of a house at Smith Street.

“Those who are responsible for this incident need to realise that times have changed, that we have an accountable policing service and we will back it to the hilt against those who would bring danger into our midst in such a reckless way.

“All of us who live in the area have reason to be grateful to the PSNI for the way they have kept us safe and reason to give them all the help they need in putting those responsible before the courts."
