McGlone: Proper accountability
required with public purse
SDLP member of the Public Accounts
Committee and Deputy Leader Patsy McGlone MLA has said the public is
concerned about the wastage of public money by local councils.
The Mid Ulster MLA said: “There is concern in the public, especially in
these difficult times facing the pain of a tough budget. People are
concerned when it comes to the public purse.
“Matters of poor expenditure and fraud need to be investigated further by
the appropriate authorities, with prosecution if required. There needs to be
appropriate accountability.”
