Personal info:
Have trained 21 years with Welsh Karate Association under Chief instructor Unel Wellington 7th dan and for the first 16 years with Tim Evans 3rd Dan, at the Glynneath Karate Club. Formed my own club (Zanshin Dojo) in 2002. Have also trained in many different styles including Shotokan, with Chico Mbakwe 6th dan and Gabriel Operanta 6th dan (Cardiff shotokan), and also Aikido. I believe this training in different areas of martial arts has made me an all round stronger Karateka. Especially for international Kata tournaments where I usually do Shotokan Kata anyway.
Have competed for my country (i.e. Federation and Association ) abroad in many tournaments (kata and kumite), including U.S.A. , Canada, Czechoslovakia, Holland and France. Also home internationals in Ireland , Scotland , England and Wales. Have won many titles including the Welsh Karate Grand Prix series, Welsh Karate Federation Kata Champion, FEKO English Open kata champion, Irish Open kata champion, British Grand Slam, U.S. PKC open Champion, Traditional Karate British Series, Siver medal in B.K.F.
