124 Kenning Hall Place, where Emma Pheobe was born, was originally four or five cottages, prior to that it was the site of a Tudor Mansion. Some of the people who stayed at the Mansion were Henry VIII, Anne Bolyn, Elizabeth 1st, & Mary Queen of Scots. It was owned at one time by the Duke of Norfolk. It is now a detached House.

Emma was a Mill Weaver at Census 1901 & living at 6 Brittania Road, Morley.

Mathilda and Jack had to 'nip over the wall ' before starting work at 6.00.a.m. to get married (pregnant) . No guests. Both went to work after the service. Mathilda got a 'good hiding' from her father when she got home from work for getting married. Mathilda and Jack were both 18 years old when they married. Mathilda lived in Scarborough Street, Lea Fair (West Ardsley) before marrying.
